for more than 20 years?  Behind the restaurant lies a 1,200 square foot bakery equipped to bake scrumptious desserts and other bakery items.

Most of the small coffee shops in the city have gone out of business with all the new coffee franchises opening in the region over the last 10 years (Starbucks, Panera Bread, bagel shops, Caribou Coffee, etc.). Fresh Starts found it hard to compete and kept selling muffins and scones to their own restaurant customers at a loss. They were advised to sell the bakery.

After subsidizing the bakery for a number of years, Fresh Starts Bakery was sold to an out-of-state company.  The company purchased the recipes, equipment and delivery trucks. Fresh Starts will no longer carry muffins, scones, sheet cakes specialty cakes or mini desserts. They will continue to make their squares and cookies, as well as desserts for lunch, dinner and catering.

Fresh Starts is no longer open for breakfast.  They will open Monday thru Saturday at 11:00 for lunch. This was a very difficult business decision for owner Joann Lindholm.  However, she is very excited about the new changes coming to Fresh Starts.

Fresh Starts Restaurant will soon have a new “re-Freshing” look!  New carpeting and color scheme, along with a new Wine Shop. The Wine Shop will compliment the wine dinners, tastings, and wine makers from all over the world.  Soon you can enjoy a fabulous dinner at Fresh Starts and purchase a bottle of wine to go at a discounted price.
